My Field Site Study

Before I begin telling you about my field site, I would like to share with you all on what my paper is about. First, I had to find something that was interesting to me, and with the help of my professor, Ms. Irving. We came up with traveling. Traveling is one of the most interesting, and most fun things I love to do. So my topic is traveling. Now to narrow it down, I picked backpacking, and when people back pack to different countries, they stay in Hostels. If you do not know what a hostel is, it is a very inexpensive hotel for backpackers.
Before I actually went to go visit my research, I was tremendously hesitant because if any of you have seen the movie Hostel it’s a life changing experience. In all truth, it scared the hell out of me. Now before I went to my field site, I had to find one of course, so I went to www.hostelworld.com, to find any hostels in the Atlanta area. And I found one, located in the midtown area. Now, I thought to myself, what in the world, I didn’t think any hostels would be directly in the city, but ok.
So I went to my location, and when you pull up on the property it looks like an old house, very quiet in this area. As I stood outside waiting and looking on the different type of people would show up, I didn’t see a soul. So I decided to knock on the door, and go in, of course not by myself, but with my brother. So as my brother and I entered the door, we saw at least 10 people just sitting at the table conversing amongst themselves, and it seemed as if, they were very friendly. Which in fact they were, the many faces that appeared in the hostel were Asian people, Blacks, and Caucasians.
As I went to go speak to one of the guest, they kindly got up from there sweat and greeted my brother and I, they asked where were we from, and were we staying there? Simultaneously, my brother and I said no. so I began asking one of the guest questions, as of, where are you from, and how do you like living in this hostel. She said, it is pretty good compared to the other hostels that she has stated in. she explained, how it is close to everything like bars, clubs, and its n the city. And she loved that.

Nice definition of terms. I did not like how you started off and introduced your topic but i understood what you were trying to do. you taught me alot about backpacking culture just in the little bit you wrote. When i first saw the word hostel in your entry, i thought you just mispelled the word hotel but when i kept reading i learned something new.
