Before I begin telling you about my field site, I would like to share with you all on what my paper is about. First, I had to find something that was interesting to me, and with the help of my professor, Ms. Irving. We came up with traveling. Traveling is one of the most interesting, and most fun things I love to do. So my topic is traveling. Now to narrow it down, I picked backpacking, and when people back pack to different countries, they stay in Hostels. If you do not know what a hostel is, it is a very inexpensive hotel for backpackers.
Before I actually went to go visit my research, I was tremendously hesitant because if any of you have seen the movie Hostel it’s a life changing experience. In all truth, it scared the hell out of me. Now before I went to my field site, I had to find one of course, so I went to www.hostelworld.com, to find any hostels in the Atlanta area. And I found one, located in the midtown area. Now, I thought to myself, what in the world, I didn’t think any hostels would be directly in the city, but ok.
So I went to my location, and when you pull up on the property it looks like an old house, very quiet in this area. As I stood outside waiting and looking on the different type of people would show up, I didn’t see a soul. So I decided to knock on the door, and go in, of course not by myself, but with my brother. So as my brother and I entered the door, we saw at least 10 people just sitting at the table conversing amongst themselves, and it seemed as if, they were very friendly. Which in fact they were, the many faces that appeared in the hostel were Asian people, Blacks, and Caucasians.
As I went to go speak to one of the guest, they kindly got up from there sweat and greeted my brother and I, they asked where were we from, and were we staying there? Simultaneously, my brother and I said no. so I began asking one of the guest questions, as of, where are you from, and how do you like living in this hostel. She said, it is pretty good compared to the other hostels that she has stated in. she explained, how it is close to everything like bars, clubs, and its n the city. And she loved that.

Questions and answers for class
Q: What makes this field site a good field site in studying this culture?
A: In jail, there are alot of personalities portrayed in this area. And many people try to fake the funk, they portray the big tough guy which they really arent. And there in, that is where good actors come about.
Q: What observations does the author make that is useful in talking about this Subculture?
A: He compares the actors with characters of the play. Meaning if the character is big with a bald head, and has a nasty attitude, the author is going to find someone that fits that description.
Q: What are the norms and values of this subculture?
A: The norms are getting the imates, to portray and attitude of toughness.
Q:What interview techniques that work well to understand this subculture?
A: Talk with the imates before you make judgements, and then after you get to know them, do some background information on them. Because they are not stupid, they are just uneducated

Topic:Children with Parents that have died
Sources:
J. William Worden. "Children and Grief: When a Parent Dies."
Reflection:
In the book of Children and Grief, it explains, how children are, and there motive when a parent or close relative to them dies. The author William Worden really does his research by really looking on the inside of the children.
The different field sites that i will be going to would be probably a school, an subliminally asking questions and interviewing students that have lost close loved ones. My next field site would probably be a foster home, and speak to many children in there that has no place to go.
