Who am I?
In the mix of me trying to find a topic on which to talk about, or write about, I came across the problem of the influence that hard gangsta rap or any kind of rap music that influences teenagers in a negative way. And I am going to contrast the actions with the rap music. So in finding information I went online and fount the definition of gangsta rap. Gangsta rap is a style of rap music associated with urban street gangs and characterized by violent, tough-talking, often misogynistic lyrics. But I didn’t stop there. I went a little further and listened to music by N.W.A, public enemy and many other gansta rap groups. Many songs that was published like F*** the Police, watch what you say to me etc. told stories of how they felt, but brutally told it in a nasty fashion. I also watched young people listen to the music and see how they felt about it. Many of them said that they loved it, and true “F” the police. On TV, a VH1 special came on, and it talked about the influence that rap and rap artist have on teenagers. And it stated that parents do not recognize some of the damage that their child is doing, or they might not understand why. But about 65 percent of children that listen to gangsta rap music will be in jail or would have done something illegal by the time they are 21. That kind of status is real, and it hurts because many of those kids are African American. And as a African American male, it is difficult to survive in this world if the music that is produced is with black men in it talking about ignorant issues.
